musical distraction of the day I'm a huge DeVotchKa fan from way back, but the new album--charmingly titled "Curse Your Little Heart"--is extra-special. It's short but powerful, and it includes some really interesting covers. And, holy crap, their treatment of "Venus in Furs," which just happens to be one of my very favorite songs of all time, is just totally sublime. You can hear it if you go the site and "sign up" with a throwaway email address. Perhaps not the best way to support the band, but don't worry--I already bought a copy, fair and square.
