  Ack. I realized this morning that, thanks to a wide and annoying variety of silly logistical and temporal constraints, tomorrow afternoon is the only time I can move the majority of crap out of my apartment into storage--from my books to my enormous stacks of generals-related paperwork to the bed. The next 24 hours should be...interesting.  ¶ 9:45 AM

  More travel absurdity So, I'm packing up my apartment, which means I'm going through old (occasionally unopened!) mail and various other crap, and today I found the following:

* A certificate for a $50 companion ticket on AK Air that may or may not be valid; they sent me a letter in short order apologizing for erroneously sending it (it's supposed to only go annually to people with the super-fancy credit card, and I have the considerably less fancy credit card)...buuutttt...I'm gonna try to cash it in anyway.

* A certificate for TWO $99 companion tickets on US Air (only for use in the continental US though, boo.)

These two discoveries reminded me that, somewhere, I also have a voucher for a free RT ticket on United that they gave me after I took a bump on a flight out of Dulles last Christmas. And the whole thing prompted me to check balances on some of my more neglected mileage accounts...the bottom line here is that I have more than enough mileage to go basically anywhere on US Air, and slightly more than enough for a domestic ticket on United. Which is just all to say, holy crap, dudes. I'm going to do some serious recreational travel this year, and I'm bringing friends.

In other news, packing up the apartment is haaaard. Packing up the apartment when it's solidly in the stupidly humid 80s and I live in the sunniest room on the 4th floor is...harder. I need better beer for this.  ¶ 12:21 PM
